Try Diving in Paradise – No Experience Needed

Ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? Our Discover Scuba Diving experience is the perfect way to explore the ocean safely, even if you’ve never dived before. You’ll learn the basics in calm, shallow water before heading out to discover Gizo’s incredible reefs on a real dive adventure.

What to Expect

• Step 1: Learn the Basics
  Your instructor will guide you through e-learning and a short briefing to explain how scuba equipment works, how to equalize your ears, and key safety tips.
• Step 2: Practice in Shallow Water
  In a sheltered, shallow area, you’ll try breathing underwater for the first time and practice essential skills like clearing your mask and using your regulator.
• Step 3: Explore the Reef
  Once you feel comfortable, we’ll head out together for an open water dive to a maximum of 12m (40ft). Glide over colourful corals, watch schools of tropical fish, and experience the thrill of weightlessness beneath the waves.
• Step 4: Celebrate Your Achievement
  After your dive, relax with refreshments on board and receive your PADI Discover Scuba Diving certificate of completion—a perfect memento of your first dive!

Snorkelling Adventures in Gizo

Experience the Solomon Islands from the Surface

Not a diver? No problem! Gizo’s crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs make it an incredible destination for snorkelers too. Join our dive boat at around 9 AM as we set off to explore some of our stunning coral reef sites. Choose between relaxing on a remote island where you can snorkel straight from the beach, or stay with the boat and snorkel above the dive sites for a front-row view of the action below.

At midday, the group comes together for a picnic lunch on the beach. After lunch, we head out to a second snorkelling spot, giving you even more time to discover colourful fish, corals, and maybe even an eagle ray or two.

PADI Rescue Diver Course

Take your dive skills to the next level with the PADI Rescue Diver Course, widely described as one of the most rewarding and confidence-building courses in recreational diving. Learn how to manage and prevent problems in the water while becoming a more aware and capable dive buddy.

This course is serious, challenging, and a lot of fun. You’ll practice real-world rescue scenarios and develop the ability to effectively respond to diver emergencies – from minor issues to major incidents.

The course runs over 2 days and includes a mix of theory, confined water practice, and open water rescue scenarios.

• eLearning: Before arrival, you'll complete the Rescue Diver eLearning module, allowing more time for practical training once you're here.
• Day 1: Review theory and practice rescue skills in a confined water environment.
• Day 2: Open water rescue exercises and final rescue scenarios, including managing panicked divers, surfacing unresponsive divers, and providing in-water rescue breaths.

Dives

2026 Packages for divers start as low as $220.00 Australian dollars per day for 2 boat dives and lunch. Pay for 5 days and get the 6th for free.

Rentals

Full gear hire is available for those who need equipment at $50 AUD per day and individual equipment item prices on application. We supply Aqualung regulators, Seaquest BCD's, and Cressi dive computers.

Tours

We offer a range of tours from WWII tours, bird tours, snorkeling, surf drops, and village tours. We generally cater each trip to an indvidual or a groups needs, therefore prices are given per person based on the trip you have designed, please email us for a listing of current tour options and prices.

DIVERS ALERT NETWORK

Dive Gizo is proud to support DAN Asia-Pacific (DAN AP). The Divers Alert Network (DAN) is a global network of not-for-profit, member-based, dive safety organisations working for the safety of all divers through education, research and training.

DAN AP provides Worldwide Emergency Evacuation Coverage and optional Dive Injury (Treatment) Insurance Services for Members. In addition the organisation is responsible for funding and/or manning 24-hour diving emergency hotlines throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

DAN AP is a part of the International DAN Federation of Dive Safety Organisations with worldwide Membership presently exceeding 300,000.

Wherever members live or dive around the world they have peace of mind knowing that DAN is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week to assist in the event of an accident/illness.

Why is it so important that as Divers we are protected with DAN Membership & Dive Injury (Treatment) Insurance?

It’s all about being prepared for the unexpected, namely dive accidents and illnesses. It’s essential that divers have a reputable organisation to call that will be able to co-ordinate a rescue effort and get them to the most appropriate treatment for their injury or illness. And then there is the issue of cost. DAN protection ensures the diver will not be lumbered with the burden of a potentially hefty invoice in the event of an accident or illness.

An Example

DAN was involved in the evacuation of a paralysed diver from the Solomon Islands to Australia. The evacuation cost at the time was around AUD$90,000 (as an aircraft had to be sourced from far away). In addition, the treatment costs were in excess of US$30,000, plus on-going expenses.
The essence of DAN Membership & Dive Injury (Treatment) Insurance is about being prepared. DAN offers members peace-of-mind, which comes from knowing they have the experts in diver accident management to call in the event of a diving accident or illness.
